Who Guided me
October 2020
My Aunt Jona Delica surprised me with the news that she wanted to apply to the US.
I told her that my husband doesn't permit me to apply outside the country because he has this kind of insecurity when we talk about going anywhere without him and our kids. So I declined.
I was surprised again last September 2021 when the news reached my knowledge that my aunt Jona is about to fly to Montana to work there as an Elementary teacher. I found out that there is another way to apply that doesn't cost as much as I expected it to be.
I asked her about the application and I was so happy for her.
I found out that she applied via "DIY", which means that she didn't apply through any agencies and she was the one who reached out to the principals who are hiring teachers outside the country and that my uncle and cousins will be joining her soon when she's able to save enough money to buy their plane ticket and to pay their cost of each of their visas.
I was amazed by this, so I started doing what she said I should do as a preparation for following her journey.
I asked my husband and I told him that he and Zade and Xylee will just wait for 1 year or less to get to the US together with me.
He approved and that's when I pursued doing the preparation of the application.
I prepared my resume, my cover letter, and my 3 recommendation letters as basic requirements in submitting the applications online.
